12 yrs of experience in Policing, Military service and High profile K-9 security

In 2001 Mark worked in Ottawa and Toronto providing high profile private security for physical asset protection and personal close protection. He provided close protection for celebrities such as Avril Lavigne and high profile politicians such as Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Mark completed the State of Utah Police K-9 certification and spent 2 yrs working with a general purpose Police K-9. (2002-2004)

Mark joined the Canadian Forces in 2004. After completing army basic training he attended the 6 month Military Police academy at CFB Borden.  Upon graduation Mark was posted to CFB Halifax where he was assigned to general police patrols of the Halifax Base, the HMC Dockyard and Shearwater Air Force Base. Mark was a trained member of the Atlantic Canada NERT (Nuclear Emergency Response Team).

Mark had the opportunity to work for the Force Protection Unit (FGF) and provide anti-terrorism security for the CDN Atlantic Fleet. Mark participated in numerous multinational and NATO force protection deployments. Many force protection deployments involved foreign fleets and nuclear vessels such as aircraft carriers and submarines. Mark was a certified tactical assault vessel operator and is experienced in operating the RHIB 590. (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat)

Mark sailed on the war frigate the  HMCS Fredericton. As an Anti-Terrorism Combat Specialist Mark was responsible for protecting the ship and its crew from any threats while on its tour and visits to ports.

In 2006 Mark began combat work up training for deployment to southern Afghanistan. During this time Mark received training on the C-9,  C-6 and 50 cal machine guns, M72 rocket launcher and the Carl-G anti tank weapon, M203 grenade launcher, land mines, explosives, IED’s and VBIED’s (Improvised Explosive Device/ Vehicle Borne),  Illumination/trip flare,  CQB (close quarter combat), FIBUA (Fighting In Built Up Areas), Hand to hand combat, Immediate action drills, Combat first aid, Driver/operator of APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier), NBCD (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Defence), Remote grenade launcher/grenade and smoke grenade and was qualified as a Remote Weapons Systems (RWS) gunner for the RG-31.

In Feb 2007 Mark was deployed to Kandahar Afghanistan and had the opportunity to serve in various roles and work with various units such as NIS (National Investigation Service), NCIU (National Counter Intelligence Unit), CDN CP Team (Close Protection), CDN, GB and US special forces.

Mark had the opportunity to provide close protection for General GRANT and many other high ranking ISAF officers. He worked in areas such as the KAF detention facility, PRT (Provincial Reconstruction Team) at FOB (Forward Operating Base) CNS (Camp Nathan Smith), ROLE 3 KAF Hospital and completed Helicopter field extractions of wounded soldiers and Taliban prisoners. Mark had the opportunity to assist in the training of Afghan police and military.  He conducted security patrols of various locations in southern Afghanistan and worked with the Afghan Police and Military, Dutch, British and American forces.

After the 6 month tour of duty Mark returned to CFB Halifax in Aug 2007.

In Dec 2007 Mark left the Military for a position as a Police Constable with a large police service in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) where he is currently working as a 1st class Patrol Constable and a member of the Search and Rescue unit.

Procinctu Training and Consulting was launched as a way to continue to train and operate at a high level while passing on the skill set to the next generation of warriors.
